With this defeat, the Greens squandered an opportunity to extend the lead at top and dropped down to second place with 25 points, while the Flaming Orange climbed to the top of the table with the same points.

Sporting Clube de Goa scored a thrilling 3-2 win over Salgaocar FC in the CAM Goa Pro League (Super League) at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Wednesday.

Salgaocar had a first shot on the rival goal but Mark Carvalho's shot was easily collected by the Sporting keeper.

At the other end, Sporting Clube de Goa broke the deadlock from a well executed corner kick after they played a shot corner which was put inside the danger area by Lloyd Cardozo and Clive Miranda pounced to score a looping header which gave no chance for the rival keeper. The Flaming Oranje led 1-0 at the break.

In the second half, Salgaocar came back strongly and Fhezer Gomes equalised in the 50th minute. Mark Carvalho made the initial spade work before setting Fhezer, who scored within four minutes of coming on as a second half substitute.

Flaming Oranje regained their lead within a minute with a quick move when Lloyd Cardozo set up Rohan Rodrigues on the right flank. The midfielder kept his composure and fired a low grounder to make it 2-1.

But Salgaocar equalised within two minutes from a set piece. This time it was Mark Carvalho who scored giving no chance for Sporting keeper Bhaskar Jalmi.

Sporting nearly regained their lead in the 85th minute but Marcus Mascarenhas saw his low volley brilliantly saved by Salgaocar keeper Jason D'Melo.

However, after failing to score from series of corners, the Flaming Oranje netted the match winner in the stoppage time when Salgaocar Jason failed to deal with Myron's header which then fell to an unmarked Joel Colaco, who slammed the ball at the roof of the net to give three points to Sporting.
