Velsao Sports & Cultural Club stunned Sesa Football Academy with a fluent 3-1 win in the Goa Professional League 2022-23 match played at Duler Stadium on Friday evening.

Sesa FA had the first chance of the game when Velsao keeper failed to handle Kunal Salgaonkar’s shot. Later Sesa FA missed another chance when they failed to convert a direct freekick which narrowly sailed over the bar.
Sesa had the best chance to score when Akash Kudnekar sent in a through pass to Chaitan Dabholkar, who was through on goal and with just the keeper at his sight, he shot wide, in what looked like a pass to his teammate, despite him being in a better position.
At the other end, Velsao took a surprise lead in the 20th minute when a long diagonal ball from the right flank found Shario Gomes on the left flank. And the midfielder danced his way in the centre before trying his luck. His shot took a deflection off a Sesa player before beating the keeper, 1-0.
Sesa FA equalized at the hour mark when they were awarded a penalty. Mohammed Faheez converted the spot kick.
Velsao keeper Rahul KK had a series of saves to deny Sesa FA players soon after the restart.
Velsao regained their lead in the 65th minute when Vinoth sent in a perfect pass in the box to an unmarked Imran, who scored past the keeper to regain their slender lead.
In the 71st minute, Velsao struck once again and this time it was K Vinoth, who scored his fourth goal of the campaign. Meuton Fernandes, who came on as a second half substitute was fed with a brilliant through pass. However, the youngster played it square to Vinoth, who shot past the keeper to make it 3-1 and seal full points for his side.
